About Us
Born out of the World Economic Forum
The Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional, and global challenges.
Hong Kong Hub
Established for more than 10 years, GSCHK is the local chapter of the wider GSC network. Our hub is made up of a network of young people driving dialogue, action and change. We act as a bridge between Hong Kong’s grassroots communities and global decision-makers.
What makes us unique?
Youth-led community
All members are 18-30 years old and the membership is on a volunteering basis, bringing fresh energy and perspectives to local issues.
Impact focused
Our hub operates on a project team basis where all members are involved in at least 1 local or global initiative aligned with SDG goals.
Global presence
Members enjoy exclusive opportunities of regional and international events, retreats, and conferences within the World Economic Forum network.

Projects that help improve human rights and social justice while promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
Projects that increase access to education, skills, and jobs and promote entrepreneurship.
Projects that aim to improve health and well-being for young people and vulnerable groups.
Projects that organize humanitarian responses, respond to natural disasters and fight extreme poverty.
Projects that reduce emissions, protect biodiversity and nature, and promote recycling and reusing materials.
Projects that strengthen democracy, encourage people to vote and inspire young people to become election candidates.
Our History
A Journey of Impact
Trace our steps from a small meeting in Central to 15 years of driving change.
The Beginning
Global Shapers Community Hong Kong hub was founded. WEF contacted 400 people globally to start GSC. 1st meeting: Classifieds, Central, with 6 Shapers.
Global Growth
GSC grew to 500 Shapers worldwide. The Inaugural Curators Meeting was held in Geneva, marking a significant global milestone.
Hosting SHAPE China
GSCHK hosted SHAPE China, bringing together young leaders from the global GSC community to our local chapter.
15 Years of Impact
Celebrating our 15-year anniversary! We continue to drive meaningful change in Hong Kong through dedicated members.

Empowerment Hub
The Empowerment Hub supports migrant domestic workers in HK by providing free, Sunday-based hybrid workshops focused on digital skills, social media marketing, and AI tools co-designed for real needs.
Futures Cities Dialogue
A podcast focused on connecting with changemakers rethinking how our cities grow, connect and adapt to the opportunities and challenges shaping our future.
The Project Clinic
Tailored, hands-on support for starting and developing social and environmental projects. Project leaders receive advice to support the journey from passion into reality.
Wish+Shape
Mentorship projects connecting underserved students with young professionals for guidance, workshops and networking. Partnered with Christian Action to share and inspire.
Fiction & Reality
The Global Shapers Hong Kong Fiction and Reality Book Club is a curated, discussion-driven community that brings together young professionals for thoughtful conversations at the intersection of literature and real-world issues.

GSC Shanghai Hub Retreat 2026
"This was my second Shanghai Retreat, and once again I was struck by how welcoming and thoughtful everyone was. I especially enjoyed the Foresight session - our speaker Louis provided a powerful framework for turning uncertainty about the future into agency and fellow shapers also shared their experience as a Future 26 fellow. The culture track, from Chinese medicine to Chinese opera, was equally memorable, showing how authentic cultural experiences can create meaningful human connections."
2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions
"The 2026 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian was an eye-opener! Being in arm's reach learning from Presidents/Prime Ministers of countries, meeting investors, entrepreneurs and passionate youths, I was energized by the powerful network of Global Shapers because it allowed me to join unique conversations, learn from peers from other jurisdictions, and bring home a fresh perspective to do more impactful work in Hong Kong!"
Regional Retreats

World Economic Forum Annual Meeting Davos 2026
"Being a Global Shaper in Hong Kong has been a transformative experience and enabled me to not only expand horizon but deepen connectivity across Hong Kong as a community. At Davos, it was an opportunity to represent Hong Kong and showcase the key initiatives of the Hub. Being there was a reminder of the importance of youth voices at international platforms where global decisions are made."
